What is
"Fine Line Tattooing" ?

Fine line tattooing is a style that uses thin, precise lines to create detailed designs with a delicate and refined appearance. It is especially well suited to botanical, ornamental, illustrative and minimalist tattoos, where subtle details and clean linework are an important part of the design.

At La Black Mamba Tattoo Studio, every fine line tattoo is custom designed with careful attention to placement, composition and how the tattoo will work with the natural shape of the body.

Fine line tattooing is at the heart of Lorena Lazo’s work. Her approach combines delicate linework with botanical, ornamental, illustrative and freehand influences to create tattoos designed specifically for each client.

Rather than simply reproducing an existing image, Lorena works with each client to develop a design that considers the subject, placement, scale and natural flow of the body. The result is a tattoo that feels personal while remaining true to her distinctive fine line style.

Why Choose a Fine Line Tattoo?

Fine line tattoos are known for their clean, delicate appearance and ability to incorporate detail without relying on heavy outlines. They can work beautifully for small, subtle pieces as well as larger, more intricate compositions.

The style is especially popular for botanical designs, flowers, ornamental work, animals, lettering and illustrative tattoos. Fine line techniques can also create softer details, subtle textures and elegant transitions within a design.

Choosing the right size and placement is important. Lorena considers how the design will sit on the body and how much detail can realistically be included at a particular scale before creating the final tattoo.

FAQ

The Studio
La Black Mamba Studio rises where the natural landscape of the Okanagan meets a contemporary vision of tattooing. Every corner is designed for the artwork to breathe with clarity.

Here all styles coexist under a single, refined sensibility.

Serving clients across the Okanagan Valley, including Kelowna, West Kelowna, and Penticton, our studio focuses on delivering detailed, high-quality tattoos in a professional and welcoming environment.

The experience unfolds intimately, with dedicated time and an environment that encourages calm, precision, and professionalism.

In this space, a tattoo is not a service; it is a guided and considered process, created so each client feels supported from the first idea to the final photograph.
Additional Guests
Our tattoo room is an intimate working space. To keep the atmosphere calm and focused, companions are invited to wait in the reception area. They may step in briefly to capture a photo during the session, and again once the tattoo is finished.

Children
For safety, young children should remain in the reception area with a supervising adult, and for no longer than one-hour sessions.

Pets
We love them, but animals are not permitted in the studio during tattoo sessions for health reasons.
Photo Guidelines
We photograph every tattoo to preserve it in our visual archive. To keep the composition clean and timeless, we kindly suggest avoiding bright colors or bold patterns.

Neutral tones and simple silhouettes let your tattoo remain the focus. Black, white, sand, or soft beige always photograph beautifully.
Studio Conduct & Personal Devices
We care for the atmosphere as much as the art.

We ask for respectful language at all times to ensure that everyone in the space feels comfortable.

You’re welcome to use your phone to listen to music or watch a movie during your session; we only ask that you avoid continuous texting or holding the device while we tattoo, as small involuntary movements can affect the precision of your piece.
Nutrition & Comfort
We encourage you to arrive well-fed, hydrated, and rested, and to bring anything that helps you feel at ease during your session. Light snacks and water are welcome, as long as they don’t interrupt the flow of the work.

The studio provides blankets and pillows for your comfort.

If you prefer to bring your own, please make sure they’re completely clean: a tattoo is an open wound, and maintaining a hygienic environment is essential for your safety and healing process.

Design Process

- The design process is guided by each artist’s methodology, creative direction, and the nature of the project.

- Designs may be developed digitally prior to the appointment, selected from available flash, or created freehand on the day of the session. We work best with clear and intentional ideas.

- References are welcome as a starting point, not as final outcomes. Minor adjustments are permitted; however, a change in concept that implies starting from scratch will require a new deposit.

- Design work begins only after the deposit has been received.

- Clients are expected to review the artist’s portfolio in advance to ensure their style and approach align with the desired outcome.

- An estimated cost will be provided prior to sending your deposit.

- All estimates are based on the information provided and may vary depending on factors such as skin, placement, the final design, and the flow of the session.

- All decisions are made in consideration of both client safety and the integrity of the work.
Touch-Ups
A complimentary touch-up is offered within a period of up to 4 months after the initial session, once the tattoo is fully healed.

- Touch-ups are intended to address minor inconsistencies in healing and are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

This policy applies only to tattoos that have been properly cared for following the provided aftercare instructions.

- Touch-ups do not apply to changes in design, additions, or modifications requested after the original session.

- Additional sessions required due to significant fading, poor aftercare, or changes in the skin are not considered touch-ups and will be charged accordingly.

- Touch-ups must be scheduled within the designated timeframe. Requests made outside of this period may be subject to additional cost.

Tattoos in flexion and friction areas like the neck, knee, elbow, wrist, hands, and feet are not covered by our guarantee.
Aftercare
Caring for your tattoo isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s vital for your health. A tattoo is essentially an open wound that needs proper care to avoid infection and ensure perfect healing. Here’s your step-by-step guide:

Keep the initial bandage on for 2 or 3 days, as instructed by your artist.
With clean hands, wash your tattoo with lukewarm water and fragrance-free neutral soap. Gently pat it dry with a paper towel—avoid fabric towels.
Apply a thin layer of artist-recommended ointment.
Wear loose clothing that does not rub or press on the tattooed area. Avoid the gym and excessive sweating.
Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, seawater, swimming pools, hot tubs, or bathtubs. Excessive alcohol should also be avoided, as it may hinder healing.
Remember, a well-cared-for tattoo will keep its details sharp and colors vibrant.
If you have any concerns or notice anything unusual, consult your artist.
